Averill is seeking energetic, career-oriented recent college graduates to participate in a 10-week internship program in summer 2014.

Our team has combined 75 years of experience serving secondary and higher education, hospitals and medical centers, academic medicine, faith-based organizations, global health organizations, human service organizations, professional and membership societies, arts and cultural organizations, and civic and social groups.

We are seeking energetic, career-oriented recent graduates to support our efforts in leading and directing sophisticated fundraising campaigns, feasibility studies and development audits for our high-level clients.  For a period of 10 weeks commencing in mid- to late-June 2014, our interns will be placed onsite with a leading non-profit community partner in the greater Philadelphia area.  The program will include mentoring and training in the non-profit industry, and our interns’ responsibilities will be to support fundraising initiatives for Averill and the organization to which they are assigned.

Our goal for the Averill intern program is to introduce participants to the non-profit sector, and to equip our interns with the skills for a career in fundraising for non-profit organizations.  As a participant in Averill’s intern program, you will work with knowledgeable colleagues and accomplished and talented non-profit executives, and be provided with progressively challenging assignments to ensure your professional growth in the field.  A stipend will be provided for the 10-week program.

Successful candidates will have:

–              Proven leadership and teamwork capabilities in school, work and/or volunteer endeavors

–              Interest in careers related to fundraising and development consulting for the non-profit sector

–              Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

–              Attention to detail and high degree of initiative

–              Excellent written communication, research, and organizational skills

–              Ability to travel to a project site in the greater Philadelphia area

–              A bachelor’s degree
