The Salvation Army - Sierra del Mar Division

San Diego, CA Category: Human Service

The Sierra del Mar Division of The Salvation Army* serves 400,000 people each year in the California counties of Imperial, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego. Through Corps across the four county area, the Army provides family services, transitional housing, shelter services, feeding programs, youth services, and meets basic human needs.

The Sierra del Mar Division is committed to doing even more for the communities it serves, with a special focus on strengthening human service and educational programs, by expanding services and increasing access. These plans call for needed improvements to the Division’s service infrastructure.

Following a successful Planning and Feasibility Study (102 interviews conducted) in early 2014, Averill Fundraising Solutions directed the Sierra del Mar Division’s “Building Hope. Transforming Lives.” Campaign, a $40,000,000 effort to build new and improve existing facilities in all 17 Corps for homeless individuals, women in crisis, the underserved, children and youth. Under Averill’s direction the campaign has raised $64,000,000 to date and included $50,000,000 gift.

*The Salvation Army Sierra del Mar Division became part of the California South Division in 2018.
